Welcome to Raven Ridge Homestead
A private ridge-top homestead hosting a limited number of small gatherings, seasonal meals, and hands-on workshops each year.
Raven Ridge is a working homestead in the Santa Cruz Mountains, opened on select dates. Held outdoors and intentionally small, each occasion centers on conversation and food shaped by the season. Advance registration is required.
The Experience
Arrival begins with open sky and long views across the mountains. The pace shifts. The land sets the rhythm.
What to Expect
Some center around a shared table. Others focus on listening or time outdoors. The details may differ, but the tone remains steady for those who value being present and prefer real conversation over screens.

Dehydration isn`t just about preserving food. It`s about creating ingredients you`ll actually use.
It requires minimal equipment, stores well without refrigeration, and can be used to preserve everything from fruits and vegetables to herbs, seasonings, snacks, and prepared foods.
In this free class, we`ll explore multiple drying methods, including electric dehydrators, oven drying, air drying, and simple solar approaches. You`ll also sample a variety of dehydrated foods that demonstrate just how versatile this preservation method can be.
Each participant will receive a take-home guidebook to continue learning at home.
This FREE class is offered through the Felton Library.
Although the library isn`t requiring registration for this class, I`d appreciate an RSVP through the Raven Ridge Homestead website. Our first Food Preservation class in this series filled to capacity, and knowing how many people plan to attend helps me prepare enough seating, guidebooks, and tasting samples for everyone.

I hope you`ll join me!
